When the plans for the end-of-year road trip were finalized for Canberra and Lake Burrinjuck, I wasn't sure if it would be fun, mainly due to the fact that it would be my third road trip down to the capital of Australia with the Photo Club, and I had no idea what Lake Burrinjuck would be like.
But I loved going on road trips with the Photo Club, so I signed up anyway - And that decision paid off. The trip was from 14 - 16 Nov, and it was three days well spent.
Canberra itself was alright, with stops to places where I had not been yet, such as the National Carillon (above) and Questacon. We also revisited great places such as the Parliament and War Memorial (below), where I tried to get more interesting shots.
We did have dinner at a fairly nice restaurant ~
After one and a half days of city, we left for the wilderness that was Lake Burrinjuck, approximately one hour south-west of Canberra. And this was where it truely felt like a road trip.
Lake Burrinjuck was located in a state reserve area hidden deep in a valley area that looked quite different from the surrounding rolling terrain. It was a beautiful place, even though the weather that we had was less than perfect.
The best thing about the place, though, were the wild but friendly animals that were everywhere :)
I even made two videos of the Kangaroos and the Birds that were there.
More photos in facebook ~
One thing's for sure - I'd love to visit Lake Burrinjuck again.
Till the next time,
Raylen
