From Niagara Falls, it was a long journey back to Singapore, and one that turned out to be longer than planned. We first returned to Toronto, where we caught a flight back to Vancouver for an overnight stopover. This initial section went off without a hitch.
The next, however, did not go off so smoothly.
First, we were hit with a two hour delay to our flight to San Francisco. The infamous (or famous, depending on your point of view) morning fog had rolled into the city that morning, and that had resulted in massive delays to all flights going into SFO, including ours.
While we ultimately managed to fly there, the initial delay caused us to miss our onward connection to Tokyo/Singapore by fifteen minutes, resulting in us being stranded. Fortunately, the one (and only one*) helpful staff at the Air Canada counter helped put us up at a (relatively) nearby hotel for the night, and got us onto a flight departing the next day.
With that resolved by mid-afternoon, we found ourselves with several hours to utilize, which we did by revisiting a small part of the city that we had last stepped foot in in 2008.
In need of food after the morning's mess, we made Fisherman's Wharf our first stop.
We also paid a visit to the sea lions of Wharf 39, who were generally content to laze around while tourists snapped endless photos of them.
From there, we followed the coast westwards towards Fort Mason, catching a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge from afar. Unsurprisingly, the bridge was already half shrouded in low clouds. Afterwards, we headed to Ghiradelli Chocolate to buy some chocolate squares back, as I remembered really liking them when we last visited.
We ended our visit shortly after, returning to our accommodation to prepare for the next day's homeward journey. Thankfully, the remainder of the trip back to Singapore was trouble-free, thus finally ending our extended travels to Canada.

*There were unfortunately a number of very unhelpful Air Canada ground staff, both at VYR and at SFO.
