As we start off 2016, it's time once again to look back at the things that stood out for me in the past year. 2015 was a complicated year - it was not as interesting as the previous year, and somewhat more stressful. However, there were still several great things that happened:
-
1 - Getting A Photo Exhibited
Getting my first photo into an exhibition/public display of any sort was probably the largest personal achievement of the year.
The photo was a personal favourite from my 2014 trip to Iceland, and I had entered it (and two other photos) into Noise SG’s open category after a friend’s encouragement, not really expecting anything to come from it. As such, having it selected for display at the Noise SG festival exhibition was a pleasant surprise.

2 - NYC 2.0
In my first visit to NYC, I did all the touristy things I could. After that trip, I had mentioned my desire to return to the city for a less touristy, more in-depth experience on some date in the distant future. Little did I know. Less than a year later, I was already making plans to return, from an opportunity that came about when my sister mentioned that she was returning to Singapore and needed help to transport her stuff home.
I spent most of this second trip wandering Manhattan and Brooklyn fairly widely for almost approximately ten days, and it was a very different experience from my first trip there.
-
3 - Annual "Kampong Families Trip"
The annual trip with family and family friends, which I’ve now decided to call the “Kampong Families Trip” was held in June this year, instead of the usual period of December. We visited four countries in Eastern Europe, and as usual, it was a great load of fun. I’m happy to say that I helped to plan and organise it (And also fret all over it while we were travelling).

4 - First Photo Shoot for a Restaurant
Thanks to my sister, I got my first opportunity to do a small photo shoot for a restaurant this year (Horizon Bistronomy in Punggol), and it was a great learning experience. I definitely hope I did well enough, and would most certainly love to do many more shoots if the opportunity arises.

So that was 2015. Now a new year has begun, and I hope to improve and achieve much more in 2016. May we all have a great year ahead.
Till the next time,
