Of all the places in New York City, the Brooklyn waterfront that faces Manhattan's financial district is probably my favourite, both for photography and for relaxing. Walking from the refurbished industrial buildings of DUMBO to the tree-lined streets of Brooklyn Heights and out to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade is a pleasant experience, as is a stroll along the waterfront through Brooklyn Bridge Park. These were places where I spent quite some time at (several times over a number of days) on this trip, but I did it so spontaneously and sporadically that I wouldn't be able to tell you exactly how much time I spent there.
As an additional (and totally random) sidenote, President Obama may have been in Manhattan on one of the days when I visited Brooklyn Bridge Park, as there was a massive security presence, even across the river in Brooklyn. There were boats and police cars and even military planes (two Ospreys) that were patrolling.
Till the next time,
Raylen
